A struggling family experienced a Christmas miracle when a mystery woman dropped a £100 shopping voucher in their trolley before vanishing.
Emily Clarke and Carl Pearson were facing a scaled-back Christmas after they both lost their jobs due to the impact of the pandemic.
The Cheshire couple were then left jaw-dropped by the act of kindness when they were shopping at Asda on Barons Quay, Northwich, on Christmas Eve.
Emily, 28, said she was standing at the end of an aisle checking the shopping list when she heard an elderly woman say "merry Christmas " to her.
