Harrowing footage has emerged of a mum being pulled away from her young son by police after protesting against the coronavirus lockdown in Australia.

Cosmetic nurse Renee Altakrity, 36, was wearing a yellow sign as she stood near the Parliament of New South Wales in Sydney with her four-year-old son along with 40 other people as part of the "Exercising My Rights" protest group.

The sign read: "If you don't know your rights, you don't have any. *Magna Carta*" In the clip shared on to Facebook, Renee's son is heard crying frantically when he sees his mother being questioned by the police, who said the mother had breached the Covid-19 social distancing rules.
