As many as three houses have reportedly been destroyed after a gas explosion at a residential area in Heysham, Lancashire tonight.
A major incident has been declared and nearby residents have been evacuated. Neighbours have posted dramatic photos on social media showing the wreckage of a number of properties, saying they were woken by the sound of a blast at around 2.30am Sunday morning.
Lancashire Police has warned people to avoid the area, and a safety cordon has been put in place.
