This is the moment terrified thrill-seekers were forced to climb 200ft down from a world famous roller coaster after the ride broke down mid-air.

The Big One - previously known as The Pepsi Max - at Blackpool Pleasure Beach screeched to a halt near its 213ft peak yesterday afternoon due to a suspected mechanical failure.

Two girls filmed the hair-raising journey from the top of the ride as they clambered down the tracks buffeted by strong winds.

Footage posted on TikTok captures the pair giggling nervously as they made the terrifying descent. Park staff were forced to scale the ride before tentatively guiding visitors to safety by making them walk down.
