direct to your inboxThe first day of the trial of three people charged over a deadly explosion at a mill has heard fire chiefs describe the devastation as 'like something out of the movies'.Bosley Mill in Congleton blew up in July 2015, killing four people.Today, three men have gone on trial in Chester charged with corporate manslaughter over the deaths of Dorothy Bailey, Derek Barks, Derek Moore and Jason Shingler.

One of the men, George Boden, is a company boss from Stockport.Boden, the director of Wood Treatment Ltd in Bosley, pleads not guilty to four charges of gross negligence manslaughter.He denies a charge under the Health and Safety at Work Act, as did managers 58-year-old Philip Smith, from Macclesfield, and 56-year-old Peter.
