In a statement, HBO Max said the event will be held to “raise awareness for and support the vital mission of” When We All Vote, a nonprofit co-chaired by Obama.

HBO Max parent company WarnerMedia also will make a donation to the group, which seeks to increase voter participation.Emmy Award-winning composer and guitarist W.G.

Snuffy Walden will play the original score for the series, which ran from 1999 to 2006 on NBC, and folk-rock band the Avett Brothers will close out the special.“The West Wing,” which won 27 Emmys and two Golden.
