MAURA Higgins is keeping a close eye on her boyfriend Giovanni Pernice's ex Katie McGlynn after she signed up to Strictly Come Dancing.

The 30-year-old Love Island star has recently followed the former Coronation Street favourite on Instagram - no doubt keen to keep tabs and forge a friendship ahead of her working with her man.

The move comes just days after The Sun revealed that BBC bosses are desperate to pair 28-year-old Katie with pro dancer Giovanni this year - but fear it could create a storm for his love life.

The hunky Italian was romantically linked to the blonde actress five years ago, and pairing them together would create one of this year's most sensational couples.
