Her heartbreaking exit storyline from Coronation Street in 2019 drew major acclaim but now Katie McGlynn is taking on one of her biggest challenges to date as the seventh confirmed contestant on Strictly.

Katie who famously played Sinead Tinker for seven years before her character’s devastating death from cervical cancer and has since been a regular on Hollyoaks is over the moon to be getting her dancing shoes on.

Katie confirmed the news on social media saying: ‘Pass me those sequins, I am so excited and nervous! But as long as I don’t fall over mid-routine I’ll be quite happy.’ ‘And what a line-up we have already, cannot wait to meet everyone and start this crazy journey with my new Strictly fam. ‘ A post shared by Katie McGlynn
