Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt is “in love with Turin and Italy” and could stay for the next five to 10 years, according to his girlfriend’s father.
De Ligt, 20, sealed a £77m move to Juve from Ajax last summer, reportedly turning down offers from Barcelona and PSG, and has since racked up 27 appearances for the Italian champions.
The Dutchman is in lockdown at the moment, nevertheless, after three of his team-mates - Daniele Rugani, Blaise Matuidi and Paulo Dybala - tested positive for coronavirus.
The virus outbreak has brought European football to a standstill, with all major domestic leagues being put on hold. Champions League and Europa League football has also been suspended, while Euro 2020 has been delayed until 2021.
