Mary Berry used binoculars to judge contestants from a viewing platform on 'Celebrity Best Home Cook'. The 85-year-old chef watched on from a specially-built 15ft mezzanine, which was above the kitchen on the BBC show, so she could judge stars' culinary creations from a distance to keep her safe amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Contestant Tom Read Wilson - who is the 'Celebs Go Dating' receptionist - said: "Mary, for the whole thing, because of Covid, was on a kind of beautiful mezzanine that they built for her. "And they gave her a pair of beautiful opera glasses so she could look over and see what we’re up to, which was just great.
