Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has introduced a strange new name for employees at the flagship social media company. The 37-year-old has announced a number of new "corporate values" for Facebook and newly named parent company Meta, with staff told they are now "Metamates".Reports from the Verge suggest that the announcement came from a meeting between all staff members of both groups, with Zuckerberg explaining what it means for Meta and Facebook.Zuckerberg said the introduction of new values would include a focus on teamwork that would "build awesome things," "move fast together" and a new call to "focus on long-term impact".The evolution of the previous slogan "move fast and break things," evolved into "move fast" and now "move fast together".The parent company changed its name from Facebook to Meta last year and is responsible for some of the largest social media apps, including WhatsApp and Instagram.Zuckerberg said that for staff to identify with the new unity of the firm, employees should start considering themselves Metamates, and that the priority when considering employees, self and the company should be "Meta, Metamates, me."On Facebook, Zuckerberg explained that the current values of the company were written in 2007, but a lot had changed since then.He said: "We are now a distributed company.

We have a global community and wide reaching impact. And now we're a metaverse company, building the future of social connection."Now is the right time to update our values and our cultural operating system.
