The 20-year-old centre back will get his first regular taste of senior football with the League Two club owned by the Class of 92 and currently managed by Paul Scholes.
The former United midfielder was placed in temporary charge of the Ammies this week following the sacking of Graham Alexander and will be in charge for tomorrow's League Two fixture with Port Vale, when Bernard will hope to make his EFL debut.
Bernard made his United debut in the Europa League defeat in Astana last season and he's been a regular in United's academy sides for the last three years.
