Manchester United have been told that they must pay somewhere between €45-50million (£38-43m) to stand any chance of signing highly-rated AS Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
That is according to a report by Italian news outlet Tuttosport, as cited by the Mirror, who claim that Monaco will refuse any offer below that price.
Tchouameni, who will turn 22 into January, is one of the most highly-rated players in the world and is being linked with an array of big-name clubs across Europe.
United, who will resume their Premier League campaign with a trip to Vicarage Road to face Watford a week on Saturday, are likely to try and bring in a new central defensive-midfielder next year after failing to land one during the summer.
