Safe standing is to be trialled from January 1 after the government gave the Sports Ground Safety Authority [SGSA] the green light to begin assessing stadiums.
Clubs in both the Premier League and Championship have just two weeks to now apply to the SGSA to offer supporters approved standing areas.
