One of the Manchester's oldest backstreet boozers is closing for good.The Jolly Angler has announced it will be shutting after Christmas following the sale of the building by brewery Hyde's.The Ducie Street pub, which dates from 1854, is regularly featured in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide and is known for its traditional folk and Irish music nights.Landlord Ray Reynolds, whose family have run the pub for 34 years, said he and regulars were gutted by the closure but grateful to have a few more months before the shutters come down."You just need to read [the reaction on] Twitter to know what the pub means to regulars and also folks who always make a point of calling in when they are visiting Manchester," he told the M.E.N."It’s one of those bars.
