Andrew Pearson, 53, had arranged and conducted each of the funerals, and personally oversaw the collections for the different charities, including Macmillan Cancer support.
However, as time went on and the grieving families didn’t receive confirmation of their donations, suspicions were raised. It was later discovered that Pearson, of Blackley, had pocketed the cash, Minshull Street Crown Court heard.
