One of Manchester’s three Liberal Democrat councillors has left the party following an investigation into ‘unacceptable behaviour’ – something he strenuously denies.
Coun Greg Stanton says he resigned over ‘political differences’ with the group and its leader Coun John Leech, and disputed ever being under investigation.
But in a statement the Lib Dems said a ‘series of investigations’ had been made into the Didsbury West councillor’s alleged conduct while a member of the group.
