Bosses at MAG, which owns and operates Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands airports, welcome the move to ensure passengers arriving into England have tested negative for coronavirus before being allowed entry.
Passengers will need to present proof of a negative test result to their carrier on boarding, while the UK Border Force will carry out spot checks at arrivals - with an immediate £500 fine for those who fail to comply.
