Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested the January transfer window may be a quiet one for his side. But the club's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is reportedly conjuring a long-term plan which will see the Red Devils strengthen four positions in coming windows.
United have struggled for consistency in the opening months of the season and it is hoped this can be addressed with new recruits in key areas on the pitch.
One player United are believed to be pursuing is Bayern Munich star David Alaba, who is out of contract at the end of the season and sought after by many of Europe's giants.
