Ole Gunnar Solskjær KSO (Norwegian pronunciation: (About this soundlisten); born 26 February 1973) is a Norwegian professional football manager and former player. He is currently the manager of English club Manchester United. As a player, he played as a forward and spent most of his career with Manchester United. Solskjær also supervises a training academy for young footballers in his home town of Kristiansund, and is a patron of the Manchester United Supporters' Trust.

Manchester United’s willingness to sign the defender on a £12million-a-year deal. The Austrian is set to leave Bayern Munich, with talks over extending his contract falling through and making him a free agent on June 30.

While the 28-year-old has played regularly at centre-back for the Champions League-winning side, it has seen clubs such as Chelsea and Liverpool come sniffing.

And Daily Star exclusively reported last month that United had also put their hand in, speaking to Alaba’s representatives. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side had hoped to hijack the deal from Real Madrid, willing to offer the defender £12m-a-year to secure a deal in January.
