Manchester United star Fred has admitted his first season was not good enough at the club. However, he believes he has learned a lot and has become an integral part of the squad this year round.
The Red Devils fought off strong interest in the Brazil international from Manchester City to snap him up from Shakhtar. Fred became the club's third most expensive signing of the time, making the move for a fee of up to £62m.
Big things were expected of the Samba star but he failed to convince Jose Mourinho of his credentials. The Special One's most damning statement came soon into the season when he said he could not play him because of his lack of defensive awareness.
