Former Manchester United scout Jorge Alvial has claimed the club ignored 40 scouting reports on Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies.
Canadian teenager Davies has been a revelation for the German giants this season, impressing against Chelsea in the Champions League last month and establishing himself as one of the most highly-regarded teenagers in world football.
But things could have been very different if the Red Devils listened to their scouts - after Alvial recommended him as a 14-year-old who would have cost just £1.5million.
Alvial says he was convinced by the youngster when he played for the Vancouver Whitecaps, but his plea was ignored at Old Trafford before he joined Bayern Munich in a £18.8million deal in 2019.
