Manchester United fans want Erik ten Hag to give James Garner a chance next term after he played a key role in Nottingham Forest's winner in the Championship play-off final.
Midfielder Garner, 21, has been at loan on the City Ground from Old Trafford since the start of the campaign. He has been an important player for Forest, making 45 appearances in the second-tier, 39 of which have been starts.
Steve Cooper named the England U21 international in the starting line-up against Huddersfield at Wembley - and his inclusion did not disappoint Garner provided the assist for the only goal of the game as Forest returned to the Premier League for the first time since 1999.Receiving the ball on the left hand side, Garner took a touch to get it out of his feet before whipping a delightful low cross into the box that was turned into his own net by Levi Colwill.
The Huddersfield defender might have got the final touch, but Garner's contribution did not go unnoticed by eagle-eyed United fans. Some simply claimed Garner deserved to play Premier League football next season, while others went one step further and suggested he could form a part of Erik ten Hag's plans going forward.
