A 12-year-old girl has described the moment she thought she had died after being hit by a car in Salford. Olivia Potts was walking along Liverpool Road in Irlam when the accident at around 5.30pm on May 27.
The youngster, who attends St Patrick's High School, misjudged the distance of an oncoming car and stepped out into the road.
The schoolgirl attempted jump out the way but it was already too late. She fell onto the car bonnet, flipped and landed on her head.
Thankfully, a passer-by helped apply pressure to her injury while others called for an ambulance. When Olivia’s mum Rachel Cooper learned what had happened, she initially thought it was a prank.
