A man had been jailed for 22 weeks after spitting in the face of a police officer. Mohammed Hussain, 42, had spat at the officer after calling 999 to report an alleged assault against him by a 'group of males', Manchester Magistrates Court heard.
He was taken to hospital and spoken to by the police, but they were called out again once Hussain, of Bolton, had returned home.
Following this, events escalated, and resulted in Hussain spitting in the face of one of the officers and using racially abusive language towards another officer.
Hussain previously entered not guilty pleas to assaulting an emergency worker and racially aggravated harassment, but changed his plea to guilty on June 1, and a charge of racially aggravated harassment was
