A man has died and two others are in hospital after a four-vehicle horror crash. A lorry, two cars and a van were involved in the smash on the A947 near Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Horrifying pictures show a heavy goods vehicle in the middle of the road with two cars in a field beside it. The smash happened amid 'terrible driving conditions' in the area, with a Met Office rain warning currently in force across Aberdeenshire.

The 62-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Transporter van was pronounced dead at the scene, while the vehicle's passenger - a 58-year-old man - was hospitalised with serious injuries.
