A man has tragically died after being hit by a lorry on the M4 near Cardiff. The accident happened at around 3.45am on the westbound carriageway of the motorway between junctions 30 Cardiff Gate and 32 Coryton.
A spokeswoman told Wales Online the incident involved a Renault articulated HGV and a male pedestrian. She added: "Sadly the man was declared deceased at scene and his family are being supported by a specially trained liaison officer." The carriageway was shut in both directions for nearly four hours.
It remains closed westbound, but the eastbound carriageway re-opened around 7.30am. The spokeswoman added: "Officers wish to thank members of the public who assisted at scene and for their patience during the road closures." South Wales
