LaTorra Michelle Tillman's mum reported her missing earlier this month before her body was found in a "little hangout area" near a creek in Athens, Georgia.
A major police search was launched but it took the 33-year-old's friends to find her body after trekking down to the familiar spot, reports the Union Recorder.
It is believed Ms Tillman's body could have been left there as early as the end of August. Clemmon Jamar 'CJ' Hunt, 26, was arrested not long after police were called to the scene, following reports of a foul smell unearthing "what appeared to be a body" wrapped up.
