Manchester City have made a breakthrough in transfer negotiations for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush, paving the way for the forward to become their third signing of the January transfer window.
Eintracht were expecting to include Marmoush in their squad for Friday's Bundesliga clash with Borussia Dortmund, however talks with City progressed on Thursday and the two clubs have now verbally agreed a fee for the Egyptian.
Marmoush scored his 20th goal of the season on Tuesday night and took his assist tally to 14 against Freiburg in what was his final appearance for Eintracht.
He joined them in 2023 on a free transfer, scoring 37 goals and bagging 20 assists in 67 appearances. His arrival will provide competition and support for Erling Haaland, with Marmoush averaging a goal contribution at almost half the rate of City's star striker this term.
