Jack Grealish's goal with his first touch at Paris Saint-Germain came at a very handy time in his Manchester City career. Having seen Savinho and Jeremy Doku put in statement performances in recent weeks, Grealish's longer-term struggles has arguably seen him drop to third-choice on his favoured left-wing.

So with Doku injured and Savinho replaced at half-time, Grealish scored at a useful moment, even if he could not help City's latest collapse to leave their Champions League hopes in serious danger.

Less than 12 hours after slumping to defeat in Paris, City took the opportunity to turn bad news into good news by announcing the £59m signing of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush.

City have rediscovered their scoring form, with goals all over the attack in 2025, but PSG was a reminder that they still need more.
