The club have decided to relay the Etihad pitch so that it can be ready for when football does return, which, per a recent letter sent to EFL clubs, could be mid-June.
A pitch takes eight weeks to reach peak condition, but it can be played on within four weeks. With the football schedule contorted due to the current postponement, City were unsure whether they would have time to relay the pitch between the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons.
