City travelled to Leipzig having already confirmed top spot in their group ahead of PSG, but little went to plan on the night as a strong team selection backfired in a 2-1 defeat.
A bad night was made worse by Walker being shown a straight red card for needlessly kicking out at Andre Silva minutes after the striker had scored his side's second goal.
Walker's suspension could yet be increased, but he will definitely miss the first leg of City's last-16 tie when the competition resumes in February.
