mirror.co.ukA man has been sentenced to death for the rape and murder of a nine-year-old girl in Florida. Granville Ritchie, 41, was convicted of first-degree murder, sexual battery and aggravated child abuse in September 2019.
Ritchie's lawyer, Bjorn Brunvand, had said the man's abusive and violent childhood and lack of prior criminal history should prevent him from being put to death.
On Friday, a jury reached a unanimous guilty verdict and Ritchie received the death penalty for raping and murdering Felecia Williams.
