A young man with a "heart of gold" was tragically stabbed to death outside a train station while defending his girlfriend. Carpenter Cam Smith was stabbed in the heart during an altercation with a gang who were abusing his partner in Seaford, southeast Melbourne.
The harrowing incident took place in front of shocked witnesses, who claimed the victim was stabbed with a broken bottle. Police found the 26-year-old had suffered life-threatening injuries around 7pm on Wednesday and despite the efforts of paramedics he died at the scene.
