A man and woman have been arrested after a dead baby was found dumped in a garden in Weston-super-Mare. Avon and Somerset Police launched an investigation after the infant was found on Saturday morning.

Following significant developments, the death is being treated as a potential homicide with the suspected pair in custody for questioning.

Senior Investigating Officer Det Ch Insp James Riccio said: “Due to significant developments in this investigation, I can confirm we’re now treating the baby’s death as a potential homicide.
