snowdrifts in the Highlands. Emergency services raced to the scene overnight as passengers were left stranded near Loch Droma due to severe weather on the A835.
Two people were evacuated from their cars between Ullapool and Altguish as chaos broke out. All cars and passengers have now been cleared with no injuries reported.However, the road remains closed due to extremely heavy snow and Scots are being warned to 'stay away' and not travel to the area.Images from the area show diggers on the scene shoveling huge walls of snow off the road in a bid to tackle the intense weather.The terrifying incident sparked a multi agency response with Police Scotland, Highland Council, NHS Highland, the Scottish Ambulance Service, Scottish Fire and Rescue.
