Liverpool legend Steve Nicol believes the Reds should only attempt to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly if the Serie A side lower their asking price.
Liverpool are among a host of top European sides who have been linked with the centre-back this summer and there have been suggestions that they should look to bring in a new defender.Dejan Lovren has departed the club, while Joe Gomez and Joel Matip have struggled with injuries over the years and Koulibaly could be brought in to partner Virgil van Dijk.
Speaking on ESPN FC about the potential signing, Nicol said: "If the money is right [signing Koulibaly is a no-brainer]. But clearly, they’re asking for silly money. "The chairman at Napoli is well known for being tough to deal with.
