Liverpool vs Man Utd to be played behind closed doors as region is moved into Tier 3

Liverpool vs Manchester United will be played in front of an empty Anfield after the region was moved into Tier 3 of coronavirus restrictions.

The Reds and Everton have been playing home games in front of supporters but they will now join the other 18 Premier League clubs in reverting to hosting fixtures behind closed doors.

Liverpool take on Newcastle at St James' Park this evening before travelling to St Mary's to face Southampton next Monday. They then face another away fixture at Aston Villa in the FA Cup, before their next home game against fierce rivals United on January 17.
