The heartbroken mum of a 12-year-old boy killed by a driver in a hit-and-run crash has described the pain of losing her "best friend", a court heard.
Harley Watson was struck by the car, driven by Terence Glover, as he left Debden Park High School in Loughton, Essex, with his friends on December 2, 2019.
Glover pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility in November last year and will be sentenced today. In a personal impact statement read to Snaresbrook Crown Court during Glover's sentencing hearing, Jo Fricker described her son as her "best friend".
Reading the statement, prosecutor Christine Agnew said: "I wish the days away. "It wasn't just Harley's life that was taken that day.
