Liverpool are in for the long haul when it comes to paying for Diogo Jota. The Reds snapped up the Portugal international in a shock transfer that seemed to happen in the matter of hours.
On a whirlwind of a Friday at Anfield, Thiago Alcantara was signed from Bayern Munich. Many had expected this eventually but the Reds ramped up their efforts this week after submitting a bid and agreeing personal terms.
But if that took people by surprise, shortly after it emerged that Wolves had sold Jota for £45m to Liverpool. The deal makes him the fourth most-expensive player the Premier League champions have ever signed.
