Liverpool have been given permission to begin work on an expansion to Anfield, which would raise the stadium’s capacity to over 61,000.The expected cost for the expansion is set to be around £60m, and the overall capacity will be increased by 7,000 seats on the Anfield Road End.
Liverpool applied for permission for expansion to the Liverpool City Council back in December and only received approval today – this means they can expand their stadium to fit in more fans than the likes of West Ham, Arsenal and Manchester City.
