Liverpool reportedly made contact with Sokratis Papastathopoulos as Jurgen Klopp still looks for defensive reinforcements.The Reds are set to be without Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez for the majority of the rest of the season due to knee injuries.It has cost the reigning Premier League champions, though Klopp is yet to move for any new players during this month’s transfer window.Sokratis saw his contract terminated at Arsenal earlier in January and has now joined Greek outfit Olympiacos.Though The Athletic report that Liverpool made contact towards the end of last week with Sokratis.Sokratis has history with Klopp having been signed by the Reds boss at Borussia Dortmund back in 2013.Though The Athletic add that talks did not past checking.
