Liverpool are in advanced talks to extend Georginio Wijnaldum over plans to extend his Anfield contract until 2023, including the option of another year on top.
The midfielder, who the Reds signed from Newcastle for £25m in 2016, has proved invaluable to manager Jurgen Klopp over the course of his four seasons at the club.
Wijnaldum has scored 18 goals in 177 games during his time on Merseyside, including a memorable two-minute brace against Barcelona in last season's epic 4-0 win.
The Athletic journalist David Ornstein reported in January that Liverpool were not adverse to the thought of selling the former PSV Eindhoven ace this summer.
