Liverpool fans are unhappy with Raheem Sterling seemingly pointing a finger of blame at Reds defender Joe Gomez while on international duty.
England struggled to beat Iceland in their UEFA Nations League opener, which saw two players sent off and two penalties awarded on Saturday.
Sterling scored England's spot-kick before Gomez conceded a penalty in stoppage time. But Birkir Bjarnason fired high and wide to gift England all three points from the Group B encounter at Laugardalsvollur National Stadium in Reykjavik.
Speaking after the game, match-winner Sterling labelled the mistake for the penalty "sloppy", which rubbed some Liverpool fans up the wrong way.
