Liverpool fans are in total agreement after Georginio Wijnaldum hit a brace in Netherlands’ 3-0 win over North Macedonia at Euro 2020.Former Manchester United star Memphis Depay put the Dutch ahead in Amsterdam before Wijnaldum netted a quickfire second-half double to secure top spot in Group C for Frank De Boer’s men.
He also scored the opening goal in Netherlands’ first match of the tournament against Ukraine. Wijnaldum, 30, spent five seasons at Anfield and was considered one of Jurgen Klopp’s most important players but moved to PSG earlier this month after leaving Liverpool on a free transfer.
Reds fans were disappointed to see the midfielder go once the deal was announced, and now they’re even more perplexed after watching Wijnaldum.
