Today marks the 55th anniversary of the first spacewalk on the International Space Station – but conspiracy theorists have long-since claimed such events have proven that UFOs are orbiting Earth.
Russian astronaut Alexei Leonov made history on March 18, 1965 when he stepped outside the ISS for a spacewalk. The incident paved the way for many more to follow suit to not only look after the station but to study space more than ever before.
But, in the conspiracy community, spacewalks also offer another glimpse into a new world – alien craft. Sensationally, theorists often claim to have seen UFOs lurking in the distance on NASA's live feeds.
