Simon Cowell
Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

Little Mix have laid into the “scripted” X Factor, and hope to trump former boss Simon Cowell ’s ratings, saying: “The best revenge is success.” The group – who won the show in 2011 – say its viewing figures dropped because it “lost its authenticity”.

Taking a swipe at the series, they vow their new BBC talent show, The Search, will mark a “new dawn of reality TV where authenticity is key”, with Jade Thirlwell saying: “You can’t lie to people.

People aren’t stupid any more about the smoke and mirrors.” Little Mix signed to Cowell’s label Syco, but quit two years ago in a row about musical direction.
