Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Simon Cowell was not impressed with comedian Peter Kay's string of parodies that took inspiration from reality TV talent shows, it is claimed.

The music-mogul, 60, is said to have thought Kay's shows Britain's Got the Pop Factor and Possibly a New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly on Ice "undermined his success." Not only was Simon annoyed that Peter, 47, took aim at his portfolio of series but he was also infuriated that narrator Peter Dickinson took part, The Sun reports.

Kay is said to have told Dickson: “He hated it. Hated everything about it. Thought we were taking the p***, undermining his success.
