Lionel Messi scored his 10th and 11th goals of the season against Granada on Saturday night to set yet more records. The Barcelona star has now become the first La Liga player in history to hit double figures in 15 straight seasons.
His brace helped the Catalans win 4-0 and close to within three points of second-placed Real Madrid. Messi's rate of scoring is actually far slower than his usual high standards.
The Argentine has scored 11 times in 17 outings but usually he would average around a goal a game. Barcelona though have struggled this season despite their league position and Messi's uncertain future continues to be a major issue.
