Leonel Garcia has joined forces with Cyrille Aimée for a new version of the classic “‘En El Último Trago,” exclusively premiering on Billboard today (Aug.6).
Paying homage to his roots and folklore music, the Mexican singer-songwriter turned the timeless ranchera by José Alfredo Jiménez into an entrancing lullaby-like acoustic.
Aimée, who’s a French-Dominican, U.S.-based jazz artist, adds her soothing soulful vocals. “En El Último Trago,” which translated to “in the last drink,” marks the first single off of Garcia’s forthcoming album Amor Pasado, which completes his trilogy that began in 2014 with Amor Futuro and Amor Presente released in 2018.
